ROOFING OVERCLAD AND GIROMAX GUTTER WORKS IN TIPTON
Coverclad Services was tasked to carry out an industrial roofing overclad and gutter works in Tipton, near Birmingham, directly on behalf of an estates management company. The client was taking a proactive approach and wanted a long lasting but cost effective method of protecting the roof. So rather than stripping everything down, a decision was made to overclad the existing roof with a built up system, and to install a Giromax High Performance Gutter Lining System.
Due to time constraints with a quick turn around from quote request to awarding the job and arriving on site, we overloaded the 1,750 square metre roof with between 6 and 8 personnel over a 15 working day period, to maximise efficiency and to ensure deadlines were met. The client requested for the works to be undertaken in conjunction with a 15 year insurance backed guarantee, and third party surveyors duly inspected and certified the works, ensuring manufacturer installation guidelines were met.

Our rooflight installers replaced the existing external rooflights with Class three 2.44kg single skin rooflights, to act as the internal liner rooflight (boxing them in). Then we installed a galvanised steel grid bar system ready for rolling out the insulation and fitting the new top layer roofing sheets.

Another view of our Coverclad Services industrial roofing experts about half way along the right hand slope, laying down the roles of insulation and then the Uniclad 34/1000 profile 0.7mm plastisol coated metal roofing sheets.

Main fixings and side lap stitchers have been applied to both slopes. Loose insulation is filling the void and foam fillers are embedded along the flashing rail. The top ridge flashing is the last piece to be fitted.

In the foreground the soaker flashings are tucked under the ridge flashing at the top of the slope, cascading down past the roof penetrations (just the final two top hats to be fitted onto the closest roof penetrations).
