PREVENTATIVE ROOFING WORKS IN TYSELEY BIRMINGHAM

Coverclad Services was contracted directly by one of our long standing blue chip clients to carry out preventative industrial roofing works in Tyseley Birmingham, at one of their sites. The client was undertaking a phased approach to office refurbishment inside the building and wanted to eliminate potential industrial roof leaks. So we dispatched a three man team of our industrial roofing experts over a six day period to complete the phased remedial works.

Our tasks included treating ridge flashing joints and replacing the existing perished ridge fillers, installing soaker flashings to existing roof penetrations (such as hot flues and soil pipes), treating cut edge corrosion to the eaves of roof sheets across multiple slopes, treating cut edge corrosion on flashing joints on the blue perimeter capping details, and replacing all roof fixings and rooflight fixings. There was no need to conduct any industrial gutter works as they were completed by ourselves during another phase of the project.

Ridge flashing with missing crown corrugation fixings.

Before photo of the ridge flashing with fixing joints requiring attention. From an installation stand point, the ridge flashing should be fixed at the top of every crown corrugation for maximum stability and lifespan. In this case it is fixed at every other crown, meaning insufficient pressure is being applied to the foam fillers beneath.
