GIROMAX HIGH PERFORMANCE GUTTER INSTALLATION IN CARDIFF

Coverclad Services was contracted to install a Giromax High Performance Gutter System in Cardiff, to an empty industrial unit experiencing water ingress in several areas. The terrace unit was on a slope with neighbouring units stepping up to the right and down to the left, with both adding to the problem due to water collection in their gutters causing damp through the parapet walls.

As long standing approved Giromax installers, our task was to remove the water and clean out the existing two gutter lengths (spanning approximately 120 linear metres with bends), then cut down and seal the gutter joints, bolts and outlets with Giromax Seamsil where necessary, and finally to apply the Giromax HPG System throughout.

Overall the Giromax High Performance Gutter installation in Cardiff took just under two weeks to complete (due to inclement weather). Photos are below. If you require approved Giromax installers please telephone 01384 573088. If you are in need of an emergency callout then please telephone 07976 726770. Alternatively you can send us a message.

Prior to our works, another contractor had coated some of the roof fixings to try and stop water ingress issues, plus they installed flash bands to various joints as well as sealed joints to some of the boards on the side of the parapet walls.

Giromax HPG topcoat applied around industrial gutter bends

Completed view of the lighter Giromax HPG topcoat applied around two of the industrial gutter bends. There are a few reasons the Giromax basecoat and topcoat are applied in contrasting colours (darker and lighter), one being as a visual aid between coats for the Giromax installer, another being the lighter grey topcoat helps reduce solar degradation, and a further one being if there is an issue with the product then Giromax are able to check the application process by undertaking a destructive survey (checking both coats of the High Performance Gutter System have been applied correctly).
