GIROMAX CUT EDGE CORROSION IN WOLVERHAMPTON
Coverclad Services was instructed to carry out Giromax cut edge corrosion In Wolverhampton, as part of dilapidation works instructed by property surveyors. The locking mechanism manufacturer was moving out of the warehouse unit. The cut edge corrosion had taken hold of the mid-laps and eaves, as well as the tops of the rooflights.
As approved Giromax installers, our job description was first to prep the cut edge corrosion by using wire wheels and wire brushes to remove the loose rust and plastisol, back to a sound substrate, then install Giromax Seamsil where applicable and finally apply Giromax basecoat and topcoat to finish.
All six roof slopes (with one valley gutter and four perimeter gutters) spanning hundreds of linear meters of cut edge corrosion needed treating over a two-week period. And because it was dilapidation works, consideration needed to be given to the ongoing processes across the live site.
